MD, e-residency Estonia (2014-2019)
Creating cultures of innovation
Kaspar Korjus is a pioneering innovator who is helping nations worldwide become truly digital, borderless societies.
As Managing Director of e-Residency Estonia (2014-2019), he spearheaded the construction of a new fully digital nation for global citizens, with a mission to achieve world-wide digital and financial inclusion.
From humble beginnings in 2014 - as a spare desk in a back office with a small budget - e-Residency has grown to 50,000 e-residents from more than 150 countries and 6,000 newly established businesses.
Kaspar has been included in Forbes Estonia’s “30 under 30” list as #1 in Technology and Finance. He was selected by former United States CTO, Megan Smith, as one of 20 global digital leaders. Kaspar is also the founding curator of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community in Estonia and sits on the board of several blockchain and fintech companies.
In 2017, Kaspar became the most-quoted Estonian national in the world. In 2018, he was awarded the Order of Orange-Nassau by the King of the Netherlands, His Majesty Willem-Alexander, in recognition of his notable contributions for the betterment of societies worldwide.
Kaspar combines the daring of an instinctive entrepreneur with a strong impulse to transform systems for the public good. Whether it be heads of state, business leaders or start-up founders, he inspires them to disrupt the status quo to achieve lasting positive change.
Combining the perspectives of the public and private sectors, he is expert on how digital technology is impacting business and society. But he also speaks brilliantly on what his e-Residency journey has taught him about leadership, building teams and how to create innovative cultures.
