Susan David, Ph.D., is an award-winning psychologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School; co-founder and co-director of the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital; and CEO of Evidence Based Psychology, a boutique business consultancy.

She is best-known as the author of the #1 Wall Street Journal best-selling book, Emotional Agility: Get Unstuck, Embrace Change and Thrive In Work and Life (2016), based on her concept that Harvard Business Review heralded as a Management Idea of the Year, and has been featured in numerous leading publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, and TIME Magazine.

An in-demand speaker, advisor, and coach, Susan has worked with the senior leadership of hundreds of major organisations, including the United Nations, Ernst & Young, and the World Economic Forum.

She is on the core faculty of the extraordinary global programme, Homeward Bound, which culminates in an all-women expedition to Antarctica and is being filmed as a documentary. The programme aims at increasing the influence and impact of women in the sciences.

Susan’s best-selling book and hugely popular TED talk (see opposite) have made her one of the most sought-after expert speakers on behaviour change, peak performance and leadership in the world.

Her theory of “Emotional Agility” argues that the way we navigate our inner world – our everyday thoughts, emotions, and self-stories – is the single most important determinant of our life success. It is a process that enables us to navigate life’s twists and turns with self-acceptance, clear-sightedness, and an open mind, thereby allowing us to ignite positive change.
