We’re delighted that the wonderful Viv Groskop‘s smash hit podcast How To Own The Room has been nominated again for Best Business Podcast at the British Podcast Awards.

After 5 years, nearly 200 episodes and 2 million downloads, the podcast keeps going from strength to strength. Viv has hosted global names such as Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Mary Beard and Succession’s Brian Cox. She always asks interviewees things they’ve never been asked before: their early experiences in public speaking and pressurised public situations; how they discovered and nurtured their own voice; the securities they’ve managed to work through and the ones that won’t go away.

Viv’s aim with the podcast has always been to show that anyone can own the room, because what it takes is not fixed or pre-determined – we get to discover and define it for ourselves.

Most rewarding for Viv is the reaction of her listeners: “These interviews made me realise that even people who are really good at public speaking have hang-ups, so maybe mine don’t matter that much after all.”

Viv is also a brilliant speaker herself, delivering presentations to corporate audiences and leaders around the world. She shows how all of us can build our inner confidence and authentic voices to thrive in the workplace, and how this feeds into key issues around the future of work, leadership and diversity.
